Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does Apple owns a patent on combined lockscreen/notification center, a feature present since iOS 11? I haven't seen any Android OEM implement a similar feature in their skins.
01·2 months ago@eta@feddit.org One implementation that shows the lock screen wallpaper as well.

01·2 months ago@6nk06@sh.itjust.works On iOS the lock screen and notification center are merged, swiping down brings you staight to the lock screen where all notifications are displayed (and the lockscreen wallpaper too)

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some ancient (pre-Christian) or modern mythologies that have been lost as a result of natural consequences?
01·2 months ago@FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca It’s part of the Epic Cycle. Only the Iliad and the Odyssey have survived, but there were actually 8 works.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If people's voices become copyright protected in the future as a response to AI, will any non-commercial uses of voices be affected as well?
01·9 months agoIs that widespread? My impression is that misrepresentation through fake likeness has exploded from AI generated deepfakes?
Voice imitations without AI are possible if you are skilled enough, but using AI is much easier because you can use recordings of people’s voices directly rather than trying to imitate the voices yourself.

0·9 months agoDoes this only affect digital reproductions? Because it’s sometimes easy to reproduce someone’s else voice especially if you are a voice actor. And what if you happen to have a voice almost identical to another person?
