What is actually the logic in this, if the cat is looking it’s to investigate. A gullible cat would just believe without looking.

A few times per year I distrohop, but there’s always small glitches in every distro I try, except for Debian. At least on my laptop, Debian just works.

2·5 days agoOne reason can be if the involved apps don’t have unrestricted battery access. Then the OS will put the app to “sleep” when not used. Could be worth checking.
That if someone freely gives consent but is underage, it’s not immoral.
Have you read “Reflections on trusting trust” by Ken Thompson?
The philosopher Emil Cioran had an interesting take on this. If I read him right we can stop looking for the meaning of life. It won’t make us happy to look, but it also won’t make us happy to stop. Nothing will make us happy.
I’m not a fast typer, but my writing speed is limited by things like “what should I name this variable? hm…” rather than how fast my fingers can move.

13·24 days agoA while ago my girlfriend ran into Peter Sunde at a conference, and she asked if he was still in contact with Gottfrid these days, and Peter replied “No, he’s a full on nazi now.”



So… are there any FOSS hackers who stream themselves working on free software? But like, the focus is on them, not just the code? And like maybe they get up to get a cup of tea or do some stretching etc and you can just imagine their inner monologue going “should I break out all this code into a library, it’s getting pretty big… and maybe I will need this in the future… just like I need a hug… or maybe I should open a flower shop and bake my own bread and live more in the moment” and the programmer takes a deep breath and everyone watching is confronted with a realization that they are distracting themselves from their own existential dread by watching someone else go through existential feelings.
