1·4 hours agoHuman output is innately transformative, and our “training data” is lived experience vs pattern recognition. You acknowledged that but imo don’t really appreciate what it means. We are doing more than regurgitating inputs even when our output happens to be repetitive. A LLM is only regurgitating inputs even when its output happens to be unique. It is no more than the sum of its parts, and stolen parts mean stolen output.

1·6 hours agoWhy the fuck would we assume training an LLM is anything like training a person?

16·22 hours agoBuddy living on a friends couch dropped $8k on a Hayabusa despite having no idea how to ride a bike at all and the town this took place in having no paved roads. Financed the thing too. Kinda wonder where he ended up sometimes

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•I want to write a comic book about a superhero in his 20s who comes from a very wealthy family but my friend says its stupid. Should I give up?
5·1 day agoIn a vacuum, no. In context of your other posts, you really need to gather some more experience to inform your writing. No forum is a meaningful substitute or alternative. Write what you know, if you feel drawn to something expose yourself to it

7·1 day agoI think you’re lacking the depth of experience to be much of an author yet and should focus on living for a while. Try heroin, take another crack at the novel while you’re getting clean
All thanks to your mom
The “cold hard truth” is that volunteers are more than up to stripping some the nonsense back off of ubuntu, and plenty of the people that made it good back in the day are involved with mint now. It’s no one’s favorite but this much hate for the beigest of distros is weird to me and your take on its origins is just plain wrong
