I have no problem with people recording me. Frankly, we should be doing more Sousveillance, as governments and corporate footage has a terrible track record of mysteriously disappearing whenever it’s convenient to them. But that’s not it. This is yet another corporation using peoples faces as camera mounting points. Fuck them. If you need a spycam for some reason, be a normal creep human being, and buy them off aliexpress or something

  • Actively hostile relationship with advertising

    Describes defensive relationship with advertising.

Smh. Actively hostile relationship is like throwing bricks at their offices, or, at the very least, calling their support and bogging them down with stupid questions with no intention to buy their services. Or… spreading information on why you shouldn’t use their services.

I’ll start: Ground News is a site based on the stupidest idea ever and it’s use is actively dangerous for the society. It steals traffic from real news sources doing actual grunt work, and then has the gall to ask you to pay them for it. It teaches you to turn off your critical thinking and to just trust them on rating news sources biases which they pull from… where, exactly? Ah yeah, straight out of their arses. But worst of all, they put left and right outlets on equal pedestals as if both have the same merit, promoting this weird centrist position of half left ideas and half literal fascism. American fascism, to be precise, because those ratings don’t even make sense outside of USA. For example, they’ve rated Al Jazeera, the news agency wholly owned by an authoritarian monarchy state, as “left leaning”. Like, what?

  • A lot of arch users are kids fucking with thinkpads ricing up their systems and putting anime wallppapers while not doing anything serious.

Ubuntu is commonly used by researchers and hardware developers who don’t really care about distro as long as it’s linux. The amount of times I saw people use the entire distro with default gnome skin just to launch a terminal to run their black hole simulation, the crypto cracker or some centrifuge control script… I myself am neither but ubuntu has been my go to as well since I usually don’t have time to screw with archinstall, so I just use ubuntu as good starting point and then tweak the internals as I go.
