Absolutely not — it’s a computer program, a piece of software, pretending to be human. I’ve always been against that, especially now that it’s less obvious if it’s a real person talking 🙆, or just a computer program someone prompted 🤖

I value honesty, and, sincerely, I hate that the web is filled to the brim with AI ‘slop’. As a human being who values creativity, I don’t want to see that. Fundamentally it is made to mimic human output — it’s not just annoying, it’s disingenuous.

I use them for different interfaces, different people and different things (I mostly comment/lurk on Lemmy, post random thoughts on Mastodon and post more art on Wafrn).

I rarely see Mastodon posts on Lemmy and vice-versa, and this Wafrn instance has native BlueSky integration which I find interesting (I haven’t actually enabled it on my account yet, so I can see but not interact with BlueSky posts).

moved my mastodon account to furry.engineer because it was run by the pawb.social team. also i’d never seen a .engineer domain before lol.

I’m brazilian, our official language is Portuguese, and Qwant is not available here either. It seems they don’t understand that people can speak two or more languages? They could just put an “English-only results” warning, but ok.

I’m not sure if recommending Helix Editor will help you or not, but the only hurdle with it is learning the slightly different (but more sane) keybinds, as configuration isn’t required (there is no plugin system yet, but a lot is built-in the editor).

Also, even if it was done with some type of eye tracking glasses, if you knew you were taking part in a study, would you be worried about what might happen, in comparison to how worried you are normally? Like I’m not gonna be worried about someone sneaking up on me if I know I’m being observed and more likely to be safe, so naturally I’d be more relaxed. I imagine the same applies for other people.
