I want someone to figure out how to make the glasses make an ear piercing shriek of other sound uncomfortable enough to make the wearers rip them off their faces.

I had to deal with the opposite once.

One of the bartenders refilled an empty bottle with robitussin, becauae he was sick, and was shooting that instead when he did shots.

My friends got a funnier version of this. The local elementary school has a service that translates automated phone messages for parents into any language.

She’s bilingual, but her mother only speaks Russian and shes been teaching the kids Russian. So she gets each message, 2x, once in english, and once in Russian. But, whenever the system hits a loan word, or word that is the same in both languages, (superintendent was the word it hit when I was driving with her thw other day)

it gets derailed, and finishes in english with a really over the top Russian accent.

Not the same Russian voice mind you, it switched from a woman speeking fairly fast to a man speaking english slowly and angrily, with a Russian accent, like it was trained off of cold war movie 'Soviets or something.

I feel like the only reasonable response to that would be for his lawyers to claim that the prosecution had just admitted to apocalyptic incompetence. Ignore the whistling, why tf would nukes be controllable by any system so insecure as to be reachable from a payphone, let alone with security simplistic enough to be reachable by a such a small input that it could be simulated by whitlstles.

My friends mom has been trying the opposite- shes trying to avoid buying any plastic packaged food. Not so much out of concern for microplastics, but as a way to reduce her environmental impact.

Its also helped her eat much healthier- most candy is out, all her veggies are fresh instead of frozen, fresh meats instead of prepackaged ones, etc.

On of my friends gfs did that back in the day.

I used to be a never gets sick person. Worked in restaurants in a resort area, so I was constantly exposed to germs from all over the world.

Even my constant exposure to the school germ breading grounds via best friends kids never got me sick.

I made it through covid with only 2 positive tests, both while completely asymptomatic, and both times being clear after 48 hours. And I was serrious about it because I was living with an elderly parent.

At one point, early on, I shared a wine glass with the owner of the restaurant, not just once, 2-3 hours of sharing a cup. A couple days later, it turned out she had gotten covid from her BF. I never got it off od her.

Then I left the restaurant industry. Within 3 months, my immune system normalized, and I was catching colds of my my friends kids, nights out at packed bars, etc.

For a while, I was trying to start all my comments with things like 'to add… ’ or, ‘just to clarify…’ if I was agreeing but context pr more info or whatever

etc since it seems like the default is to assume any response to a comment is conflict / disagreement.
