During a recent parliamentary committee hearing, Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree said that Ottawa would ensure “safeguards” are put in place to prevent the vehicles from transmitting information back to China.
There was also discussion to put more Blackberry software in the cars even shipped outside of Canada.
The minister revealed there are “active conversations” on how domestic firms might complement new Chinese investment, including with Ottawa-based software developer QNX, owned by BlackBerry.

Also to point out this stuff is killer to people who support CBC. This CBC article really dances around the guy trying to kill one of the major Canadian deals with a American opponent. I’d paste quote but the way they frame what the guy said and the words China\Chinese barely attempts to convey anything meaningful in context.

The reason I’m posting this here and overall context:
- France and Europe has been having a energy crisis for a while now.
- When Iran effectively closed the straight it substantially impacted Europe and Asia a lot more then America.
- As such Macron has been saying France might participate in military action in the straight to keep ships flowing
- This incident gives Macron a certain level of justification to participate.
- The probable cases of France participating wouldn’t materially change anything beyond a NATO ally sending their soldier to their deaths for Trump’s war.
- This really starts to muddy the waters as to Canada’s role if Iran starts to directly threatening France.
Tldr: Macron is a moron. He should have withdrawn his soldier from a active war zone.

The only spin I can see from the right side is they want to be so ass deep into your tech stack that they don’t even have to ask to verify who you are.
The NDP will select its next leader at the Winnipeg Convention held from March 27-29, 2026.
Just want to point out this would have given a opportunity for a potential NDP leader to gain a seat if they had some sense of urgency.

I’ve seen a lot of people defend Carney by saying the regime is bad and the problematic nuclear program. In a world of law and order no country should be allowed to singularly make decisions on how these things are handled or just bomb countries whenever they want.
Carney specifically naming America and applauding their actions shows his hypocrisy. Law and order is only a thing when they’re used to benefit him.
People with low literacy. Not only do a lot of people just read the titles but they barely give much effort doing that these days.
