I’m not sure about all Garmin watches, but most of them don’t have wifi. So in those cases their only way of getting data to Garmin servers is via syncing with the app.

You can also just use your Garmin watch on its own without any app. You can plug your Garmin watch into your PC and export your data into a self hosted fitness tracker like endurain for example.
considering Curve failed my ID check and refuse to reply to my emails trying to sort it out.
I had this exact problem with Curve on graphene back in September. Curve didn’t even ask for an ID and the app just kept saying my ID (the one it didn’t ask for) couldn’t be verified.
But a few weeks ago I tried Curve again, in exploit compatibility mode, and this time it worked. And NFC payments are working for me.
Might be worth trying it again after some time has passed?
Now try migrating all your docker containers to podman.

Sure its encrypted in transit between you and the person you’re exchanging messages with.
But that doesnt mean the Whatsapp app itself isnt scanning your chats on the phone.

12·8 days agoRight now, using GrapheneOS and being outside of corporate attestation chains just means that you can’t use the NFC payment system.
FYI, I’m able to use NFC payments on Graphene OS using Curve Pay.

I like my super secure OS being developed by super paranoid developers thank you very much.

14·9 days agoWhy do you need yet-another-separate app?
To keep your two factor codes and passwords separate in the event that your password manager is breached.
Also if you need a 2FA code to log into your password manager, how are you going to get it if its in the password manager that you can’t log into without the 2FA code inside it?

28·10 days agoWhy would oil tanker crews (which are more than likely made up of non-americans) care about “showing some guts” just so some American gas guzzlers can have cheaper fuel?
The thing about these missile defence systems is that, regardless of how advanced a system is, it can always be overcome by sheer volume of fire.
A common tactic is to saturate the sky with cheaper dummy missiles/drones that don’t even have warheads, just to deplete missile defence stockpiles and protect the real missiles/drones from being intercepted.
This is happening a lot in Ukraine too.
TLDR; You’re right to believe Iron Dome isn’t invincible because there’s no such thing as an invincible missile defence system.
