You get used to what you use. When people tell me F I have no idea what they are talking about. I hate when my car or home reset to F after a power outage because they display gibberish. Is 68 a good inside temp? I know exactly what to expect for C.

By not getting involved, other countries are attempting to keep this as a bad idea by Trump and not full on WWIII which would probably be the result if NATO got involved now. What you really need is some adults in the room in the WH who convince Trump that it is his brilliant genius idea to just walk away.
Absolutely. But they need to do it right. Eby’s “permanent” change to Daylight Savings Time will most likely get rescinded in a year or two just like it has everywhere else it has been tried because it doesn’t work. That hour on winter mornings is needed far, far more than the hour in the evening in the summer. He would have been much better to have not changed the time on March 8th and just left it alone.
Some people are much like Trump. They will contradict themselves midst their own narrative. One of my uncles literally texted that he remembered snow being around every day from early December to April - enough to play in - when he was a kid, and that nothing has changed with the weather, but then also said, so far this winter no snow that has stuck around more than a day and only a cm or so at a time. So which is it? Same as he remembered from childhood or the way it is now?
I’m guessing you’re young? This is exactly how people have met new people for literally millennia. It’s only the decade or so that it became problematic. I’m glad you were able to figure it out and take the leap. May you find many new rewarding relationships, short and long term. So long as you respect anyone saying no to your overture, you’ll probably find many people are happy to have someone else take the first step.
This isn’t solely due to Trump. This is due to American politicians over decades. They haven’t been able to make Cuba buckle and be held under America’s thumb. Cuba has survived. Even on some metrics done well. The US must punish that or Americans in general might catch on that America isn’t the greatest and capitalism isn’t the end all be all of economic systems. Babies dying is just fine by MEGA - so long as no abortions are had.
Americans have made themselves exempt from war crimes. Not surprisingly all (?) recent Presidents have committed war crimes at some time or another.
I worry about that sometimes as well. Whenever it happens I try to look at the facts that back the opinion. Are there facts? Sometimes the reason there isn’t a dissenting opinion is that there isn’t a factual basis to have a dissenting opinion. We can see in our society that many current discussion problems exist because people want their fantasy/feelings/traditions/politics to be equal to facts. Facts can be distorted so it is important to try to figure out where an opinion comes from and the basis actively supports it or just wishes it did. Often people claiming censorship, are complaining that their opinion isn’t accepted and that their fantasy/belief should make their opinion equal to an opinion based on fact.
Trump hasn’t equalled the 58,000+ Vietnam deaths yet. You know how he likes to have the bigger outcomes.
Nothing wrong with Starbucks coffee. It’s the mixed drinks with some coffee added that are a problem. They are mainly sugar water and other artificial stuff. Tea flavoured drinks are just as bad. Real tea or coffee cannot be mistaken for a pop or milkshake.
Although somehow, Trump being just as mentally incompetent, wasn’t an issue. He may be a couple years younger but he is in no objectively measured way more competent. I had a relative once say that she’s vegetarian, won’t eat animals. I point out the chicken she’s eating and has always eaten, and she says “It’s from the grocery store, not an animal”. We had to have a long chat. People too divorced from real food and its sources, have some weird assumptions.
Yeah back in the ‘golden years’ of the 90s the were saying you needed to earn twice as much as our family did to afford kids. Somehow we raised 2, through university and all without going bankrupt.

Quickest solution? Stop buying from Amazon. I quit cold turkey and the sky does not fall. I still buy what I need. I am sometimes saved from buying stuff that I don’t really need but was easily available. Just stop buying from them. They are the evil capitalism that everyone complains about.

Not that many of them die in Western countries although they may have shorter overall lifespans. Doesn’t help that they add generations in 15-22 years instead of 25-40.
