The White House insists that the affordability problem Americans like Levie report doesn’t exist. At a rally in Kentucky earlier this week, Donald Trump told the crowd: “Inflation is plummeting, income is rising, the economy is roaring back!”

Though the positive sentiment will be a tough sell for voters in the upcoming midterm elections.

After helping Congress pass huge cuts to healthcare and food assistance programs, Trump is now pushing to remove minimum wage and overtime protections for some workers. And though seven out of 10 Americans said that tariffs have led to higher prices, Trump has only doubled down on more levies.

Far from feeling like the US is in a golden age, workers said rising inflation means their paychecks can’t keep up with prices.

This, more than any other issue, is why Donald is going to lose big in November. Because he’s never done his own shopping, or opened his own medical bills, or had to take his own kids to day care, he has no concept whatsoever of what it means to live in America right now.

Affordability is also the only reason why he was re-elected, and he’s doing the Biden/Harris thing and trying to gaslight people into thinking things are better, which is not only going to backfire, but he will be so much more unpopular by election time that even the dirty tricks they want to pull won’t be valid tactics by then. They’ve even stopped the gerrymandering push because Donald’s own coalition has become so hostile to him that they can no longer rely on voters who pulled the lever for Republicans just a year and a half ago.

Now, if only we could get thirty Kat Abughazalehs elected at the federal level so Dems might actually oppose something.

      i don’t agree

What intellectual compromises must people who thought that a felon, rapist, pedo, bankrupt, fraudster would do good work on the economy ? or is it more likely he’s a racist trans hater like they are ?

it was because he promised to hurt brown people and because the brown people who supported him thought it would be other brown people. That and the trans and gays thing is why he was elected.

you’d have to suffer some sort of mental defect to think he was going to do a great job on the economy, he’s about what’s good for DT, not what’s good for the US

Doesn’t change the fact that you’re wrong.

What intellectual compromises must people who thought that a felon, rapist, pedo, bankrupt, fraudster would do good work on the economy ? or is it more likely he’s a racist trans hater like they are ?

History tells us that when the majority are starving, change is the most important factor. They had four years of knowing definitively that Biden and Harris, with all their stupid happy speeches, didn’t care if their families starved. Of course they voted to get Democrats out. So wild that Democrats insisted they couldn’t win if they ran on affordability, and then Republicans ran on affordability and it became a red wave in 2024.

it was because he promised to hurt brown people and because the brown people who supported him thought it would be other brown people. That and the trans and gays thing is why he was elected.

No, it wasn’t, and that Donald has lost so many districts he won in 2024 since unleashing the Gestapo proves that. People wanted illegal immigrants deported. They didn’t want legal immigrants to be terrorized, and the voters proved that at the polls.

you’d have to suffer some sort of mental defect to think he was going to do a great job on the economy, he’s about what’s good for DT, not what’s good for the US

You’re being awfully cavalier about other people’s mental defects when your point of ignores basic, verifiable facts.
