Some people don’t mind bland food or eating the same thing all the time. As someone trying to lose weight, I envy them.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would it take for you to switch to Linux?English
2·5 days agoThis is pretty much me. If Linux and associated software like Proton were at their current state 10 years ago, I would’ve made the jump by now. At this point, I just can’t be bothered. I work in IT, so I already deal with computer stuff at work, and I really don’t want to tinker with my pc at home as well. I bought some extra storage a few months ago, partially in preparation to try Linux, but have yet to install it.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Capcom makes the majority of its sales on PC, and it expects the 'ratio to continue increasing'English
12·11 days agoI remember hearing this about the Monster Hunter games a few years ago, so it isn’t surprising to hear it holds true for their other franchises, as well. That said, it would be nice if they focused a bit more resources on optimizing the games for their new primary platform.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What song/band did you not expect to like - but ended up loving?English
81·16 days agoBabymetal
I avoided them for quite a while because I’m not a fan of Jpop and the fusion with metal did not sound like a good mix. I eventually listened to Kingslayer, and my attitude on them a hard 180 before the song was over. They have done quite a few great collabs, but their one with Electric Callboy is just chef’s kiss.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Discord delay global rollout of age verification to improve transparency and add more optionsEnglish
2·19 days agoSome of these groups have dozens or hundreds of people on them, no way I’ll get even a fraction of them to. I don’t have the time or desire to start a new community from scratch.
As much as I hate it, people join Discord because that’s where all the communities are and they stay because all their other communities are there.

72·19 days agoA lot of communities only exist on Discord. And no, you can’t just find alternatives if they’re locally based or similar.

43·20 days agoApparently there are quite a few art majors who turn their “useless” art degree into a living by making hentai, especially furry stuff.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Game recommendation request: Offline "MMORPGs"English
22·21 days agoMost of these don’t fit “offline MMO” super closely, but are games I’ve played that share various aspects that I enjoyed in MMOs:
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Minecraft with mods
Hytale
Various Bethesda games with mods
Sword Art Online games
V Rising

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When you wanna watch something but for whatever reason using a big screen is inconvienient, would you just watch it on your phone or wait till you find the time to watch it on the big screen?English
4·23 days agoBig screen. Watching something on my phone in bed is not comfortable in the slightest. If I want comfort, I’ll go sit on my reclining sofa and cuddle with my pup.
Sounds like you were shadow banned for something. Your account is still active and you can post, but no one sees them. A lot of people see this is cowardly, but many platforms use it because if you outright ban a bad actor, there’s little stopping them from making a new account and continuing doing whatever it was that got them banned.
I am well aware, but not caring what my food tasted like would make things much easier.
